Pay Rate: $20-$24/hr. depending on experience

Are you passionate about providing high-quality care in a warm and inviting home environment? Our newly established Adult Family Home, nestled on 6 serene acres with beautiful walking trails, is seeking dedicated caregivers to support our residents with compassion and professionalism. We currently serve three residents, with the potential to welcome up to six, offering a close-knit and supportive caregiving experience.
Job Description: Caregiver
Overview:
As a caregiver, you will be the primary support contact for residents, providing essential daily care in alignment with each individual’s negotiated care plan. You will uphold residents’ dignity and respect while ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. This role reports to the Home’s Owner and/or the Resident Care Manager.
Qualifications & Training Requirements
Education & Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or willingness to become certified, paid for by Johnson Point House
Exempt long-term care worker eligibility (if applicable)
Specialty Training:
Dementia care training or willingness to become certified, paid for by Johnson Point House
Additional training as needed
Nurse Delegation:
CNA, Exempt Worker with NAR in good standing in Washington State
Completion of 9-hour Nurse Delegation Core Course (or willing to get)
Completion of 3-hour Focus on Diabetes delegation course (or willing to get)
Additional Required Certifications:
CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to become certified, paid for by Johnson Point House
Food Handler’s Certificate or willingness to become certified, paid for by Johnson Point House
Continuing Education:
Completion of 12 hours of approved continuing education courses annually, due on your birthday
Proof of Certifications:
Proof of current certifications must be brought to the first in-person interview or electronically provided ahead of time
Essential Skills & Responsibilities:
Pass background checks and TB screening (if you have had the TB vaccine, BCG, then you will need to get a blood test, which will test positive, followed by an x-ray - these are required by WAC)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Professional interaction with residents, families, and healthcare personnel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional personal care skills, emphasizing infection control and residents’ privacy
Understanding of dementia, mental health, and disabilities
Proper response to emergency situations and resident concerns
Effective communication with management regarding resident status and home operations
Reporting of suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation per DSHS guidelines
Adherence to all home policies and procedures
Implement behavioral intervention strategies for residents with behavioral challenges
Assist residents with medical appointments, social outings, and daily activities
Safe and nutritious meal preparation based on resident dietary needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the home
Perform laundry duties for residents and household linens
Keep accurate and detailed progress notes and incident reports
Assist residents with medication management following home policies
